Harper's Bazaar Interiors' newest International Style Editor Luigi Irauzqui is taking the design world by storm producing high profile design pictorials with international Celebrities & Fashion Icons and turning “good ideas into good spaces”

International Interior Designer and visionary Creative Director Luigi Irauzqui has made a name for himself over the years with a client list that includes A list celebrities and other clients in the public and corporate eye. He has produced memorable editorials for many high-end fashion and interior design publications in the USA and abroad including Harper’s  Bazaar Interiors, Grazia, Bello, Elle Décor, Marie Claire Maison, Dwell and some of the A List Celebrities he has worked with include Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Cristina Ricci, Ryan Philippe, Ben Stiller, Kristin Cavallari, Pamela Anderson.  My inspiration comes too from great architects, photographers, fashion designers, magazine editors. from Frank Gehry to I.M.Pei and Om Wright, Peder Lindbergh, Ansell Adams and Bruno Zhu, Saint Laurent to Pierre Cardin and Yohji Yamamoto. Emmanuelle Alt to Franca Sozzani and of course Anna Wintour. We caught up recently with the handsome busy Style Editor recently at the Brit Week Christopher Guy “Design Icon Awards” Showroom in Beverly Hills where he was checking out a few pieces, to ask him a few questions about his latest pictorial shoot in Belize entitled  “My Island Haven.”

We just created a piece I am very proud of for Harpers Bazzar Interiors and the current May/June issue is out now on Newstands from May 8th and introduces the reader to the breathtaking beauty of Belize City, Belize. Grab yourself a copy and be transported immediately to a hidden paradise! This current Issue, features a gorgeous eleven-page style spread showcasing the beauty of Belize featuring Belize Fashion Designer  Joris Hendrick   . I was raised in South America and Europe so my influences in design are clearly from those two extreme opposite parts of the world. I’m a big fan of clean lines, and I like to play with contradictions, mixing contemporary furniture with antiques with a generous use of color and texture: traditional yet bold but modern.

I love what Jean-Louis Deniot and India Mahdav are doing in Paris and Laura Sartori Rimini and Roberto Peregalli in Milan,  but I also love the ecclecticness and playfulness of Muriel Brandolini and one of my all time favorites and an old friend of mine Martyn Lawrence Bullard. His designs are fresh, exciting and always surprising. I am also a big fan of Kelly Wearstler and I admire her business savvy and approach and how she has ventured smoothly into the world of fashion and accessories. My philosophy on interior design is simple: always keep an open mind and never be afraid to try new things. I love achieving a vision inspired by the simplest of things…a color… a special find in an antique store…a painting or nature itself and transforming it into the ultimate grand design. “I am the ultimate shopper…and to get paid for it is the DREAM job! but it is hard to part with pieces that I fall in love with daily. Knowing that it is an integral part of the complete picture gives me some closure. I can honestly trace my love for interior design back to my fascination of building things as a child “putting things together”. I have always been drawn and had an eye for beautiful things… I love what my designs can do for people. I love interior design because the way a space is designed can make a difference in someone else’s life. Good design enriches and improves the lives of others. I made my reputation not by drawing on formal traditional training but rather relying on my acute sense of aesthetics, composition, an intense curiosity for design and architecture and a pretty unique talent for creating a décor that is undeniably mine yet reflecting my client’s personality. My philosophy on interior design is simple: keep an open mind and never be afraid to try new things….just “turn good ideas into good spaces  Luigi's Irauzqui’s lifestyle philosophy is to design • create • entertain. The definition of “Lifestyle” for me is all about defining a way of living for individuals and for society as a whole….lifestyle is expressed both in leisure and work behavior patterns, activities, interests but above all in attitudes… Lifestyle reflects people’s self image or self concept - the way you see yourself and the way you are being seen by others matters.  “I have built my reputation not by drawing on formal traditional training but rather by relying on my acute sense of aesthetics, color, composition, and an intense curiosity for design and architecture combined with a unique talent for creating décor that is undeniably mine yet still reflects my client’s personality.”

As well as travelling the world from Turkey, to Belize for Harpers B. Luigi is also the Creative Director for his own Design Consultancy Company CASAVECCHIA Design Group where he and his design team specialize in “Concept Development”. This includes Event Production, Creative Direction and technical direction from ideas to installation and magazine editorials. Creating brand recognition through live events and creative marketing for their clients through image enhancement, press opportunities and other marketing devices Luigi employs cross-promotions to reach the desired target demographics needed by their Clients to generate qualitative results. Luigi and his team provide visual tangibles to achieve their Clients’ lifestyle aspirations… Whether it is creating invaluable memories for a once in a lifetime Wedding…. or influencing and affecting their clients’ corporate partners with product launches, film premieres and TV promotions by sending a visual message to influence decision makers or even a small dinner party to simply commemorate a special family occasion in the intimacy of  their clients’ own home.  ......And what does the future hold for Luigi down the road? “I would love to publish a book on my lifestyle concepts: “Design to Entertain” which would cover everything from hosting a grand oppulent event to an intimate gathering…. and everything in between,  all with an acute sense of personality and of course….style. We are eagerly looking out for the book by Luigi! and we’ll be first in line for a signed autographed copy when it becomes available.
